Privacy Policy
PATHWAYZ APP
Legal & Compliance Policy
The Pathwayz app is designed to align with the rigorous legal standards required for Kingdom Men Development (KMD) to operate safely and effectively in California. Compliance is categorized into youth protection, data privacy, and organizational accountability.
1. Youth Protection & Mandated Reporting (AB 506)
As a "youth service organization" in California, KMD must comply with Assembly Bill 506 (AB 506). Pathwayz facilitates this through:
Background Screenings: Mandatory fingerprint-based Live Scan checks for all administrators, employees, and regular volunteers.
Mandated Reporter Training: Verification that all staff and volunteers have completed California’s required child abuse and neglect identification training.
Prevention Policies: Implementing a "two-adult" rule, requiring at least two mandated reporters to be present during youth interactions to prevent one-on-one unsupervised contact.
2. Data Privacy & Minor Protection (COPPA & CCPA/CPRA)
Because Pathwayz serves minors and operates in California, it adheres to strict data privacy mandates:
Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA): For users under 13, the app requires verifiable parental consent before collecting any personal information, including names, photos, or geolocation data. Parents maintain the right to review or delete their child's data at any time.
California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA/CPRA): Provides youth and guardians the "Right to Know," "Right to Delete," and "Right to Opt-Out" of data sharing. It also mandates higher "opt-in" consent for the sale or sharing of data for minors under 16.
3. Foster Youth & Confidentiality (AB 2459)
Specific protections apply to foster youth served by KMD:
Informed Consent: Information regarding a foster youth’s placement can only be shared with mentors and the organization with explicit, written, and informed consent from the youth.
Voluntary Participation: Participation in mentoring programs remains strictly voluntary, even if included in a youth’s official case plan.
4. Organizational Integrity
Acceptable Use Policy: Users are prohibited from using the platform to transfer copyrighted material or engage in activities that violate the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA).
Non-Profit Compliance: KMD maintains its standing through biennial Statement of Information (Form SI-100) filings with the California Secretary of State.
